マイクロソフトは、Windowsのデジタル配信プラットフォームであるMicrosoft Storeへのアプリ公開に関する開発者の登録料を廃止することを発表しました。
2025年6月から、個人開発者はアカウント登録のための約19ドルの費用を支払うことなく、アプリを公開できるようになります。
この決定は、AppleがApp Storeでの開発者手数料を見直す圧力を受けている中で行われました。
なお、Microsoft Storeでは、ゲームに対して12%、アプリに対して15%の手数料が引き続き課されますが、独自の決済システムを使用する開発者は収益の100%を保持できます。
